60 Minute Sound Lymphatic Drainage - $95

The Lymphatic System is part of the circulatory system and is an essential part of the immune system. Most people know that the body is made up of up to 75% water or fluid. This water has different names depending on where it is in the body and what its function is. Intracellular fluid consists of fluid inside the body’s cells. Extracellular fluid consists of fluid outside of the cells. The body’s cells are bathed in a fluid called the interstitial fluid. This fluid provides cells with nutrients and removes waste products. The lymph is a small percentage of the interstitial fluid. When extracellular fluid makes its way into the small vessels of the lymphatic system, it is considered lymph. The lymphatic vessels, also called lymph vessels, conduct lymph between different parts of the body. The lymphatics are responsible for maintaining the balance of the body fluids. Its network of capillaries and collecting lymphatic vessels work to efficiently drain and transport extravasated fluid, along with proteins and antigens, back to the circulatory system. The lymphatic system has multiple interrelated functions: • it is responsible for the removal of interstitial fluid from tissues • it absorbs and transports fatty acids and fats as chyle from the digestive system • it transports white blood cells to and from the lymph nodes into the bones. The lymphatic system plays a major role in the body’s immune system, as the primary site for cells relating to adaptive immune system including T-cells and B-cells. When an antigen is recognized, an immunological cascade begins involving the activation and recruitment of more and more cells, the production of antibodies, and the recruitment of other immunological cells.

Client Preparation for the first Lymph Fork Session

1.      Drink 8 glasses of water the day before and the day of the application of the fork.

2.      Do not come to the session with a full stomach. Eat lightly.

3.      Reschedule the session if you are feeling ill.

4.      Avoid wearing an under wire bra. The under wire bra hinders the flow of lymph around the breasts and under the arms.

Self Care Following the Session

1.      If this is the first session with the Lymph fork, it may stimulate a mild cleansing response as toxins work their way out of the body. Typically this lasts no longer than 1 or 2 days. Symptoms of a mild cleansing response may include fatigue, headache, or mild nausea.

2.      Plan for a light schedule. Don’t over-exert yourself, and get plenty of rest.

3.      Drink a minimum of 8 glasses of water the day following the Lymph Fork Session.

4.      Limit alcohol and caffeine as these dehydrate the body, slowing down the lymph flow.

5.      Eat healthy foods.

A Tibetan bowl massage take full advantage of this.
